Hon. Ismail WASIU Alade (IWA) has commended the Supreme Court of Nigeria for its landmark judgment delivered today, affirming the constitutional autonomy and democratic essence of local government administration across the country.
In his statement made available to our Newline NG, Hon. IWA described the ruling as a bold step towards deepening democracy, restoring grassroots governance, and giving voice back to the people at the local level.
He hailed the judiciary for standing firm in the defense of justice, equity, and true federalism.
He also extended his heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Kola Salami, the Executive Chairman of Ede South Local Government, along with all the Councilors, for standing resilient in service and now being legally reaffirmed in their positions.
“This judgment is not just a victory for elected local government officials; it is a victory for the people who voted them into office,” Hon. IWA said.
He urged all stakeholders to use this moment as an opportunity to rededicate themselves to service, accountability, and community development.
