Ondo' govt hands over Tech Hub to OAUSTECH






The Ondo State Government on Friday handed over Okitipupa Tech Hub to the management of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Tech Hub was initiated to aid students innovation, creativity and emerging technologies, has server, training and incubation rooms, and several desktop computers with internet facility.

Mr Tomide Akinribido, Executive Chairman, Ondo’ State Information Technology Agency, during the official handing over in Okitipupa, said that the Tech Hub would foster innovation, creativity and digital skills among OAUSTECH students and the university community.

He added that the Tech Hub which was inaugurated in December 2025, would also assist students in emerging technologies especially students who are specialised in information technology, Electrical/Electronics and Computer Science.

“We are here to handover the Tech Hub to OAUSTECH management that has been doing well in the area of Information Technology, the government want to support the university to add to what Technical Education Trustfund (TETFund) is doing in the university.

“The university management has been doing well in ICT and I hope the students will make judicious use of the Tech Hub in driving their emerging technologies in innovation, creativity and add to their academic excellence,” Akinribido said.

Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, Vice-Chancellor, OAUSTECH, who commended Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa for approving funds for the Tech Hub, praised the visionary strides of the agency for driving and sustaining the vision.

He added that the Tech Hub would accelerate the creativity, innovation of students who are studying in the area of computer and technology.

“I will advice our lecturers and students to take the advantage of the Tech Hub to expand their horizon because that is why we are one of the leading universities in the area of ICT,” Ologunorisa said. (NAN)
