The Ondo State Coordinator of the Tinubu/Datiwa Half-Million Walk, Hon. Kehinde Akinrotoye (Bonsue), has said Nigerians are yet to witness the best of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
Speaking with journalists after the Tinubu/Datiwa Half-Million Walk held in Akure, Akinrotoye stated that since assuming office in May 2023, President Tinubu’s administration has embarked on bold reforms aimed at restructuring the country’s economic foundation.
The former OSOPADEC Commissioner added that the President’s reforms include the removal of fuel subsidies, the unification of the foreign exchange market, among other policy measures.
He noted that while these measures may be painful in the short term, they are necessary steps toward achieving long-term economic stability and growth.
He maintained that Tinubu’s strategic vision is still unfolding and that patience will be required to fully appreciate the outcomes.
“Transformational leadership is never judged in its infancy,” Akinrotoye said. “The President is laying the groundwork for a more resilient economy. The benefits will become clearer with time.”
He also pointed to Tinubu’s track record as a former governor of Lagos State, where his policies were credited with significantly improving internally generated revenue and infrastructure development.
He expressed confidence that a similar approach at the federal level could yield substantial dividends if given adequate time.
With key policy frameworks still under development and implementation ongoing, Akinrotoye assured that the promises of renewed hope will translate into tangible progress.
