The Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Tosin Odeyemi, has resigned from the NNPP and joined the newly registered Democratic Leadership Alliance.
Odeyemi, an ally of former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, announced his resignation in a letter dated July 16.
He has now been appointed the pioneer Acting Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Alliance in Osun State. His appointment, approved by the party's National Executive Committee, was conveyed in a letter signed by the DLA National Chairman, Samuel Memeh.
Speaking after his appointment, Odeyemi thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to lead the Osun chapter with transparency while calling on members and stakeholders to support the new party.
His resignation comes shortly after he was re-elected as Osun State Chairman of the NNPP during the party's state congress in Osogbo.
