Flood Relief: Tunji-Ojo Disburses Cash to 1,000 Victims Across Six Ondo South LGAs





Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has completed the disbursement of cash palliatives to 1,000 victims of flooding across the six local government areas of Ondo South Senatorial District.

The intervention, aimed at cushioning the economic impact of the floods on affected residents, provided direct financial assistance to households struggling to recover from the disaster.

According to Hon. Kolade Akinjo, former member of the House of Representatives for the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency, the disbursement to all identified beneficiaries across the six local government areas has been successfully completed.

Akinjo, who supervised the exercise in Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Government Areas, said the intervention reached 420 beneficiaries in the area, while similar disbursements were made to beneficiaries across Okitipupa, Odigbo, Irele and Ileoluji/Okeigbo.

The 1,000 beneficiaries were distributed as follows: Ilaje - 250; Ese-Odo - 170; Okitipupa - 160; Odigbo - 160; Irele - 130; and Ileoluji/Okeigbo - 130.

The disbursement exercise was coordinated by Hon. Kolade Akinjo and other respected leaders from Ondo South Senatorial District.

Akinjo said the completion of the exercise demonstrated the commitment of the minister to ensuring that the intervention reached those most affected by the flooding.

Beneficiaries across the district expressed appreciation for the timely financial assistance, describing it as a significant relief at a period when many households were grappling with the consequences of the disaster.

They commended Tunji-Ojo for his compassion and concern for flood-affected communities, while praying for continued success in his service to the people and the country.
