Grief as Three Children Found Dead in Native Doctor's Home





Three children have been found dead inside the residence of a female native doctor in Ideani community, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, in a tragic incident that has thrown residents into mourning.

The victims, believed to be between six and 15 years old, were reportedly discovered on Wednesday in the suspect's home located in Umuoduba village.

Sources within the community disclosed that a fourth person was rescued alive from the premises and immediately taken to a hospital for medical treatment. The bodies of the deceased children were later evacuated to a mortuary.

As of the time of filing this report, the identities of the victims had not been confirmed. However, residents alleged that the children were either working for the woman, who is said to operate pig and poultry farms, or were members of her household.

The suspect, a female native doctor popularly known in the community as an Ezenwanyi, has been arrested and is currently in police custody at the Ogidi Police Division, where detectives have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The Anambra State Police Command had yet to release an official statement on the incident or disclose the identity of the suspect at the time of this report.

Meanwhile, a video circulating on social media showed police officers conducting preliminary investigations at the compound shortly after the discovery, while the suspect was escorted away by security operatives.

Authorities are expected to carry out forensic and medical examinations as part of ongoing investigations aimed at determining the cause of death and establishing the identities of the deceased children.
