The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has on Tuesday accuse a serving senator in the state for trading away the newly inaugurated Security Scheme codenamed Amotekun.
There are strong indications that the Governor was specifically referring to a serving senator from his State.
In a statement signed by Ojo Oyewamide, the senior special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, who said that the Miyetti Allah who earlier kicked against the security scheme should not be blamed, but "internal collaborators"
According to the Governor, he said,
"The outburst of the Miyetti Allah scribe was live on national television. As usual, the issue was Amotekun. Rather than throwing same stones the arrogant miscreant threw at the governors, we will rather put the blame on the those internal collaborators whose parochial political pursuits have beclouded their sense of tomorrow."
"Yes, the possibility of an outburst as such can only be seen when a serving senator because of his political ambition, would rather demonize Amotekun than support the scheme."
However the Governor stressed that it is inquisitive on the part of the senator as his immediate environment is plagued with upsurge of insecurity and he, the senator is frustrating efforts to proffer solutions to insecurity. The governor further added the act of the senator led to the pronouncement of Amotekun as illegal by the Attorney General of the federation, Abubakar Malami.
Akeredolu said: "Is it not curious that it was shortly after a supposed Senator whose immediate environment is the most affected by insecurity pummeled Amotekun that the Federal Attorney General came out that same evening to issue a statement?"
"These are the internal collaborators whose vested interests who have sold the Southwest out. However, we must emphasise that our unity and cohesion as a nation are two cherished features that we cant afford to undermine."
As of now, the people of Akoko South west local government area of Ondo state are not at peace as the region is the most bedeviled with incessant kidnapping activities in Ondo state.
It will be recalled that the wife of Odigbo monarch and his children with driver was kidnapped in Oba Akoko, Akoko south west local Government. Likewise, A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress In Akungba, Mr. Ajulo was also Kidnapped in his resident.
Emphasizing on Amotekun, the governor said Arrangements are on top gears to deploy legals means to substantiate the security outfit without affecting the nation's Unity.
In his words, "For the umpteenth time, Amotekun has come to stay and all legal means will be deployed to achieve same without necessarily affecting our oneness as a nation. Like others elsewhere, Amotekun remains complimentary; it's not a regional force"
The Governor however describes the allegation of the executive director of the Niger Delta power holding company, Ife Oyedele as baseless, describing him as a failure and stressing that the public should not be carried away with his words.
"On the allegation by Ife Oyedele that governance in Ondo state has been turned to a family affair, we urge all and sundry to show emphaty with him rather than decipate energy over his pedestrian outburst."
"For one, Oyedele who is the Executive Director of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company appears to have been overwhelmed in the pool of fantasy to the extent that he forgot he had indicted himself. It means Oyedele has failed in his sojourn as a power expert at that level of engagement of his Division has not had power for years."
"The governorship of Ondo state is open for all to contest; but it is seemingly laughable for undiscerning minds to interprete running taps for proper qualification. Oyedele has a lot more to learn. Being available as a stakeholders' ATM means he deserves to be pitied at all times" he said.
Oyedele, at the early hours of yesterday maintained that the Governor had turned the Administration's of the state into a family Affairs.
