The rumour that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is plotting to dump Agboola Ajayi as the State Deputy Governor and replace him with the Chairman of Ondo SUBEB, Princess Oladunni Odu in the forthcoming October 10, 2020 governorship election, may negatively affect the chances of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in winning the polls.
A former Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta affairs and former lawmaker from Ese-odo state constituency, Hon Kingsley Kuku, stated this in a statement issued from United States and made available to our correspondent in Akure yesterday.
According to Kuku, Akeredolu will have staged a watershed Political Coup if he eventually nominated Princess Odu as his running mate.

STRATEGIC POLITICAL COUP THAT ONDO STATE PDP MUST GUIDE AGAINST —KUKU
If the reported likely pick of Princess (Barr.) Oladunni Catherine Odu as Deputy Governorship Candidate of the APC for the October 2020 Ondo Governorship Election becomes a reality, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu SAN would have staged a watershed Political Coup.
Aunty Odu, as fondly called, is a widely admired grassroots politician and socialite with enviable track record. She has established presence in our political firmament for over 3 decades; with positive impacts.
Her pick by the APC would strategically pose evident challenges to our party, the PDP. This rumor must be a wake up call at midnight to the PDP in Ondo State.
Princess Odu is a blue blood of the Ikale Ethnic Nationality . She is of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Old Okitipupa Division (4 LGAS) in the Southern Senatorial District, the most cohesive PDP stronghold in Ondo State.
We must be worriedly alert to her access , contacts and friendships across political persuasions—-APC & PDP. An Akeredolu/Odu Ticket shall pose existential threats to the PDP in the forthcoming election.
I urge leaders and structures of our party, the PDP, in Ondo State , to review existing dynamics by the day. The party must be careful and sensitive to conventional wisdom and political expediency in her choice of Candidates in the forthcoming election.
Though any qualified Aspirant(s) from the Central, Northern and Southern Senatorial Districts of our State can and or have constitutional right to aspire and contest, it is imperative for ALL to consider the Southern Senatorial District much more to ignite victory. I , wholeheartedly endorse the conventionally apt and morally expedient aspiration of the Southern Senatorial District of Ondo State .
Ondo State had never produced a Governor who had all requisite resources and skills to ensure victory. From late Pa. Adefarati, Agagu, Mimiko to Akeredolu, Governorship Elections have been won through inevitable political conspiracy, structural organization, clarion messaging, plantational following, courageous mobilization and the God Factor.
Money without competence and organization is a protruding Political waste. The PDP must act as party in opposition and conspire with the people of Ondo State ALONE to activate Victory against the strategically skillful and politically penetrating likely Akeredolu/Odu Governorship Ticket which targets the heart of PDP and the most potent and reliable demographic—women. It is a Political Hail Mary pass.
