Ondo PDP Guber Aspirant, Okunomo picks expression of interest form

In the pursuit of his gubernatorial ambition amidst fanfare, the leading governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Banji Okunomo, on Saturday picked the PDP expression of interest form in Akure 

Okunomo picked the Form at the party’s Secretariat in Ondo State Capital after paying the sum of N4M Million Naira Only (N4,000,000) in Cheque.

The former Council Boss has also vowed to be one of the first governorship aspirants of the opposition PDP who would obtain the party’s nomination form of Twenty One Million Naira Only (N21,000,000) which would be advertised by next week by the National Leadership of the PDP.

Court Strikes out Oniju of Iju-Odo Chieftaincy Declaration

A High court sitting in Okitipupa has nullified the Oniju of Iju-Odo Chieftaincy declaration, holding that the State Government had no power to create a new chieftaincy without the consent of the Rebuja of Osooro land, the prescribed authority over chieftaincy matters in the communities within Osooro land, including Iju-Odo Community. The court declared that the Rebuja of Osooro land is the prescribed authority over chieftaincy matters in Osooro land and that the State Government has no power to create a new chieftaincy without following due process.  In a judgement made available to our correspondent, the court also held that the appointment of the 6th defendant as the Oniju of Iju-Odo was null and void, as it was not done in accordance with the custom and tradition of Iju-Odo.
