Ondo LG poll: Ilaje SDP rejects result, alledges ODIEC of complicity




The Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ilaje local government chapter of Ondo has condemned and rejected the result of the last Saturday local government election as announced by the Ondo Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC). 

The party described the conduct of the exercise as another daylight rob on the nation's democracy,  however alledged ODIEC of complicity with the rulling All Progressive Congress (APC) to rigged the election.

The party threatened to seek legal means to reclaime it's stolen mandate from the rulling APC, also called on well meaning individuals to intervene into the matter.

In a protest letter written and personally signed by the councilorship candidate of the SDP, Mahin Ward III, Ilaje local government area of Ondo state, Hon. Kolawole Agbeni, alledged that the APC and the ODIEC allegedly conive together to robbed the SDP of the mandate giving to him by his teaming supporters.

He alledged that ODIEC had  failled to distribute  election materials to Mahin Ward III, in the local government, disclosed that a day prior to the election, a staff of the ODIEC (name withheld) was caught with the result sheet in favoured of the APC candidate in the ward.

Similarly, the SDP councillorship candidate in a two minutes viral video made available to Journalists where some hoodlums suspected to be political thugs  were seen dehumanising and humiliating  voters who are waiting for the arrival of voting materials.

He called on the general public, human right activist, reputable non-governmental Organisations as well as Ondo State House of Assembly to embark on the investigation of the alledged atrocities parpetrted by the APC members during the election.

He disclosed that the party had concluded arrangement to reclaim it's stollen mandate, while evidence a compilation of all the alledged atrocity would be tender in the court for necessary action.
