Following rumours going around linking him with violence that occurred in the just concluded local government elections, and the alleged disruption of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) ward meeting in Akungba, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, a Special Adviser on rural and community development to Ondo State Governor, Hon Kolawole Babatunde, has dismissed the said rumour.
Recalled that, some hoodlums few days ago had disrupted the Zenith Labour Party meeting in the community, which led to injuries of members.
Kolawole's aide on administration, Randolph Emmanuel, quoted his principal in a statement today, as saying that "he cannot be distracted by the antics of these retrogressive elements"
The statement reads briefly, "The attention of the Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Rural and Community Development, Hon Kolawole Babatunde, has been drawn to the lies being bandied about by some unscrupulous and politically spent forces using Sahara Reporters and the social media to discredit the former Federal Lawmaker"
"Sahara Reporters in a news item circulated online two days ago accused Hon. Kolawole Babatunde of disrupting the peaceful conduct of the August 22 Local Government elections in the Akoko area of Ondo State by harassing the supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with thugs. It is curious that one Mr. Rotimi Akinwande who claimed to be the Chairmanship candidate of the party in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo could be pointing accusing fingers to someone in far away Akoko as being responsible for his loss at the polls"
