Corps Member commissions three-room toilet for pupils in Ondo

As part of his efforts to cushion the effect of open defication in the society, a Corp member, Israel Arogbonlo has dedicated a three-room toilet for the ease of the pupils of Saint Theresa Primary School, Akure. 

The Occasion was graced by Barr. Tunde Ogundare, the P.R.O Ondo State command of the Correctional services who was represented by Mr Adeniyi Olamojuba, Representative of Hon Commissioner for Youths and Sport, Mrs Olukemi Okukpe among others.

While speaking with Newsline NG, The convener of the Occasion, Israel Idowu Arogbonlo appreciated God Almighty for making the project a successful one.

Recalled that, Israel Arogbonlo had earlier donated his monthly salary as a Corp member to Ondo State Government to cushion the effect of Coronavirus pandemic in the state. 

Narrating how the project came into existence, he said the idea came as a result of his empathy he had about the well being of people especially for children,  adding that he was motivated by so doing. 

Also speaking, Mr Adeniyi Olamojuba appreciated God Almighty for a day like this and also thank NYSC for allowing Corp members exhibit their vocational skills in their respective Place of Primary Assignments (PPAs). 

He noted that Nysc has always being the platform for the youths to showcase what they have to offer to the society.

"Life is a teacher, the more you learn and irrespective of your certificate, course, grade and nomenclature, Vocational studies is sacrosanct in Nigeria today."

Mr Oyebade Babatunde while speaking at the event appreciated the good gesture the Corp member exhibited.

"It's not an easy task to pool resources during this COVID-19 period but I sincerely commend Corps Member Israel for its commitment towards getting sponsors for the project, which is in line with the directives of the scheme. You've indeed made NYSC proud and it's our prayer you'll excel in all your endeavours."

In the same vein, the Rep of Commissioner for Youth and Sport in Ondo State,  Mrs. Olukemi Okukpe noted that by this good work the Corps Member has done, he has made a landmark not for NYSC alone, but for the school and the community at large.

Some students of the school, Omotayo iyanu, Omotayo faith, Kayode Funbi who spoke with Newsline NG thanked the convener for making their longtime expectations a reality. 

They however prayed that God will bless him abundantly anywhere he goes.

In her remarks, the headmistress of Saint Theresa Primary School Akure, Mrs. Adeboyeje Morenike Sidikat thanked God for the success of the occasion, adding that the Corps Member's footprint would always be remembered after now.
