Quit notice: Yoruba group pledges support for Akeredolu, threatens more protest



A pan-Yorba social cultural organization, the Agbajowo Advocacy for Yoruba People's Right (AAYPR) has pledges it's support for the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, over what it called his efforts at safeguarding the people of the state.

The group also paid a glowing tribute to the Governor over the quit notice issued to the herdsmen from the government reserve areas across the state.

The AAYPR in a statement made available to Journalist on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti signed by its National President, Otunba Muyideen Olamoyegun, described the action of the Governor as a right step in the right direction.

The group while declaring the supports of its members which it said spread across the southwest region of the federation, disclosed that arrangements has been concluded by members of the group to embark on a street protest in all the states across the southwest including Abuja the Federal capital apparently to declare their supports for the action of the Governor.

"Agbajowo Advocacy for Yoruba People's Right, hereby pledged our support for Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu the Executive Governor of Ondo State on the ultimatum and vacation notice issued to all the  herdsmen in the State forest reserves, we encourage all other States in Southwest to follow suit.

"It is no longer a news that the southwest have suffered a lot of losses of life's and properties from the hands of bandits in the recent times.

"Hence, we cannot continue to folds our hands,  while our sons and daughters including valuables are been destroyed. We believe in one Nigeria where we all citizens are treated equally without nepotism and favoritism.

"As much as the presidency is saddled with the responsibility of upholding the constitution and One Nigeria, All Governors also remain the chief security officer in there respective states and there responsible for the security of lives and properties.

"Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has issued quit notice to all unregistered herdsmen in the state, any interference is not expected from the presidency the state have suffers lots of damages in the hands of the suspected herdsmen in recent time, ranging from killing of the States prominent sons and daughters, killing of farmers, rapping, damaging of farm products among others.

"We must ensure that the vacation  and quit Ondo State forest Order must stand, and henceforth SouthWest (Yoruba) Stakeholders will no longer fold our hands watching the herdsmen we accommodate as result of one Nigeria  destroying our farm, assaulting our children, rape, killing our future and our farmers.

"We hereby implore the Federal Government to join efforts with our State governments in Southwest in putting an end to the incessant killings and mayhem caused by the herdsmen in the region"
