Ondo Nysc: Camp Officials urged to be security conscious

The Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani has charged the camp officials selected to participate in the 2021 Batch 'A' (Stream II) orientation course to take their personal security seriously.

The State Coordinator stated this on Monday evening during the maiden meeting which preceded the commencement of the three weeks orientation exercise.

Mrs. Ani said that NYSC management has put in place a water tight security architecture to protect the entire camp community but added that individuals should be sensitive to what happens around them.

"As human beings, we have done what practically needed to be done to safeguard both the prospective corps members and camp officials but I want to enjoin you to have ears to the ground and be sensitive to what happens within your vicinity".

The NYSC Ondo State boss admonished all the camp officials to abide by the code of conduct guiding successful conduct of orientation courses so that the tasks ahead would be achieved with less stress.

"This camp is a new normal and I want to reiterate the management commitment to reward excellence and at the same time deal administratively with anyone not on the same page with us as we strive to give our best to the prospective corps members" she said.

"Do not be surprised that we shall use carrot and stick approach as one of the management tools where necessary and our ultimate goal is to ensure that the prospective corps members deserve the best of service delivery during this three weeks of orientation course".

On the third wave of COVID -19 variant discovered in few states of the country, the Coordinator said everyone should abide by the directive of Government agencies about the pandemic so that it would be checkmated.

"If we must succeed as a team during the orientation course, we have to display high sense of discipline and obey all the protocol as directed by the Presidential Task Force on COVID -19 and the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)".

She said that Nigerians should not lower their guard when Government at all levels are intensifying vigorously the best approach to adopt so that COVID -19 will become history within a short possible time from now.

"Be not troubled or dismayed about the frightening and disturbing news we are hearing everyday about what is happening in some countries of the world, how the virus had defied both medical and scientific solution but I am confident that because we are on the Lord's side, and are obeying all the protocols of the virus none of the plagues of Egypt shall be our portion and true to HIS words, we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us".

"Our God, as usual and expected, have been playing HIS part excellently well, it now behoves on us to play our part so that the purpose of our gathering for this three weeks shall be fulfilled in line with the policy direction of the management".

The Camp Director, Mrs. Itohan Ehimwenma appealed to the camp officials to put attainment of collective goal of the orientation course above any other personal consideration or self aggrandisement.

Mrs. Ehimwenma reiterated that collective effort should be geared towards achieving the theme of the orientation course which is Leveraging Synergy and Excellence Towards the New Normal.

The Camp Director prayed that God in HIS infinite mercies will protect all the camp officials, their respective families left behind, the prospective corps members and the entire camp community from all the pestilence and cleanse the country of all unrighteousness.
