By Kayode Afolabi, Ibadan

The Local government inspector of Lagelu local government area of Oyo State, Mrs Adenike Abdulkarim has call on corps members to bring out reasonable and tangible things out of thier service year

She made this call while addressing Corps members on the importance of SAED in Nysc today at Community Development Service (CDS) held at the local government.

She noted that there are many benefits in SAED as far as corps members is concerned

"SAED was introduced in 2012, it was on how youth can be empowered, and before it was included in Nysc, it was first added as a programme at the Nysc camp

"The purpose of bringing it in was to train corp member how to become a leader tomorrow

She added that the SAED training while in camp can never be enough because they are in-camp training, but it will be enough after the camp(Post camp training).

"You might be having one skill or the other but SAED training is for you to uplift yourself, She said.

"The First two days of SAED while in camp is for you to know your own business, to train you on how to write a proposal to the loan industry

"Nysc provided loan in bank of industry, bank of Agric, Central bank of Nigeria for your benefit but you don't take it serious

"Those banks came to camp to lecture you about the nitty-gritty

She added that a Corp member have once collected two million naira in Ibadan from bank of agriculture, adding that the maximum loan that can be obtained is two million naira depending on one's proposal and the money are paid back at his or her convenient time.

Speaking earlier, a Corp member named Ajayi Happiness opined that the 33,000 alawee should be added together for 12 months, give them the total amount by cash and thereafter train the corps members on how to become an entrepreneur.

She however urged Nysc to let corps members pass through Normal mentorship and buisness mentorship

In another opinion by Stanley Dornubari (Gifted), says orientation course should be extended at least three months while SAED training should be taken strictly

"After the training, equipments should be given to Corps members and automatic ticket should be given to Npower"

"We should be the one working for Npower and not any graduate, with these, corps members will not be rendered useless even after the service years.

Sanitation cds group and Sport cds group presentations were presented while all corps members were asked to do general sanitation.
