The Area Director, South West Area Office of the National Youth Service Corps, Mrs Olufunmilayo Akin-Moses has also lent her voice to the need for corps members to be security conscious.
Akin-Moses gave the charge while addressing the 2021 Batch 'A' (Stream 2) corps members deployed to the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Iseyin, during her working visit to the camp.
She said the spate of insecurity currently experienced in various parts of the country has necessitated the need for the corps members to be security conscious to avoid being victims of unpleasant situations.
She advised the corps members to avoid embarking on unauthorised journeys and only travel when they have obtained the necessary permission from the State Coordinator.
The Area Director who described the orientation exercise as a golden opportunity urged the corps members to take advantage of the orientation course contents especially the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme introduced by the management of the scheme to help the graduate youths become wealth creators rather than seeking white-collar jobs which are unfortunately unavailable.
She encouraged the corps members to avoid distractions and pay rapt attention to lectures as the information disseminated during the lectures are relevant beyond the confines of the orientation course and the service year as a whole.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Oyo State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe described the Area Director as an exemplary leader and advised the corps members to learn from her wealth of experience.
