The statement reads in part "We admonish you all to adhere strictly to teachings and tenets of Holy Prophet (SAW) which are peace, tolerance, good character, love, humility, self-sacrifice, philanthropy, especially offering aid to the less privileged in the society. These virtues are clear paths to building a strong and progressive society.
"We urge our Muslim brethrens in positions of authority to re-orientate their character, exhibit fear of God and tune daily deeds in line with God. It is a lesson of Eid-el-Kabir that no one should be happy when he is surrounded by dozens and hundreds of hungry, unhappy and insecure people. This season should reshape our orientation by imbibing the spirit of discipline and embrace actions aimed at fostering unity.
"The Eid-el-Kabir teaches that the wealth bestowed on any person is for the purpose not of enjoying life to the fullest, but to raise several other persons from their state of hopelessness and helplessness.
"Let's maximise the significance of this special season by praying to Almighty Allah in putting an end to rising cases of insecurity and banditry ravaging our Nation and restoration of peace to our Nation
