Nysc: SAED officials sensitize corp members on importance of SAED in three local government areas in Oyo

Corp members have been urged to always have plan B which Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) stand for 

A representative of Head of SAED, Mrs Roselyn Obayelu gave this charge while sensitizing corps members from two local governments ;Ibadan North east local government and Egbeda local government respectively on the importance of SAED on Thursday. 

She noted that SAED is very important as far as National Youth Service Corps is concerned. 

"SAED is one of the programme of Nysc to solve the problem of unemployment in our country Nigeria 

"Even though you have a Job already and you are earning like one million naira, it is still not enough, because you should not rely on one source of income, it is important for you to have another job which SAED is all about 

SAED is for your own benefit, if you key into it, it is your gain for life"

"We are here to encourage you, no matter how tight your schedule is, you should learn a skill, as many as possible"

"In SAED, you need finances, and with the little you are earning, you can save from it 

She stated that if a Corp member is able save like fifty thousand naira throughout the service year, is enough to start a business

Also, Mr Ademola Falayi admonished corp members to be skillful during their service year

"In Nysc, SAED is the only programme that add value to corp member, affect corp members positively, and make corp member relevant apart from community development service (CDS) and Place of Primary assignment (PPA). 

" If you want to become anything in life, starting from where you are, with the help of SAED, you can get to any level

"SAED is saddled with the responsibility of solving the problem of unemployment among youth today"

He noted that corp members must have passion for whatsoever skill they choose to do

"Your personal gain in Nysc is the Skill acquired by you and that skill can take you to any level in life 

"When you are a professional in your field, wherever you are, you will surely be located if need be 


He however urged corp members to be a professional at any skill they learn and let SAED affect them positively

In her own comment, the SAED Coordinator for Ibadan north east local government, Mrs Enimokanyin Abosede, advice corp members to always have plan B, which SAED stands for 




"Learn a skill that will add value to your life and never wish to remain where you are, try to move forward, and strife by all means to get out of poverty by learning a skill which will be useful for you for life
