He made this known in an interview he had with talktimewithwinnie and monitored by Newsline NG recently
Adeolu, while narrating how he started said, he came into broadcasting by chance, and the journey has made him move especially in the South-West.
"As a young little boy, I wanted to be a naval officer, I wrote all the exams, which I eventually passed, but my mum kept saying Naval school is a too far, she wanted me to be close to her side, so she discouraged me and then I had to moved on
"The issue of being a doctor also came in at some point but i have love for entertainment"
"When I was in school, i was top of my class, because of my academic performance, they actually thought I will be made the senior prefect, but a teacher in our school by that time was opposing me, saying I won't be a senior prefect, so they plan a coup and waited for the proprietor of the school to travel out"
"After the proprietor had traveled, they announce the list of the prefect, and i was made the social prefect, i cried because I was expecting senior prefect.
"So, my role as a social prefect expose me to public speaking, expose me to be conscious of my diction.
Adeolu further explain that " there is this woman, who is also a broadcaster, Mrs Jumoke Adesua, who currently work with Mitv star fm in Lagos, she was with broadcasting service of Ekiti State by that time, she was coordinating a Non governmental organization(N.G.O) alongside Mr Dayo Isreal who is a member of the board, Lagos State SUBEB and my humble self
"We are working on a particular N.G.O, so I was told to go and meet Mrs Adesua at the Broadcasting service of Ekiti State, i got there that day, staying at the reception with some corps members, then a man came from a room and said all of you follow me and i joined them
"I never knew the corps members were there for an audition, so by the time i got to the place they took us to, we were given a script to read and eventually someone came out and said the result of the audition is out and he said i came second.
"Interestingly, the person who the list need to be submitted to happen to be the woman i came to see, surprisingly, she said you were here because of N. G. O, and now you came second in the audition, thereafter i was given an hour program, that was how i started being a broadcaster
"Two years down the line, I felt Yoruba based presenters are getting more attention, unlike English based Presenters, I decided to learn how to present programme in Yoruba language, so, i pitched my tenth with my Boss, Biodun Fabunmi of blessed memory, I was with him for about three years, he taught me the rudiments of independent content production.
"Being my Boss as at that time, he lay the foundation of my Yoruba programme presentation "Lagbala Odu " which by November 5 this year, will be 16th year on the airwaves.
Speaking about the Programme, "Lagbala Odu" Adeolu said, the inspiration behind the programme is to produce a content that will be different from the norm
"People are used to a kind of style with your presentation, but I wanted to create some ripples within the space, I wanted a Yoruba programme that young people will align with, that was why i introduced hip hop music into Yoruba programme presentation, It wasn't like that until i came on board.
"I start playing hip hop music, doing a bit of English and Yoruba languages mixture in my programme, (code switching), it became something interesting to young minds especially a segment in the programme where I create stories and read stories
He said the name Ebony Presenter and Biggest Boy on radio (BBR) came into existence as a result of rebranding.
"As a broadcaster on Radio, we have what is called radio Monica, when I was starting up, I was naive and i thought of what to use to get Peoples attention to my direction, that was what brought the idea of Ebony Presenter
"At some point, one need to rebrand, when the rebrand was getting bigger, I was doing more of English content in my programme, so i felt i need to rebrand, looking for something catchy, which i came up with Biggest boy on radio (BBR).
Adeolu, known by the saying "Moti yo oun ti mo fe yo" on radio, is a graduate of computer science from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso
He stated that he had never for once use his certificate as a computer scientists ever since he graduated from the institution
"In the University days, i already knew I will not practice what I studied in school because i already had passion for broadcasting.
"I love broadcasting to the extent that if i come back to this world again, i will be a broadcaster" He affirmed
Newsline NG gathered that Adeolu Gboyega, the current Chief Operating officer of Crest 87.7FM, has worked for several media houses before now, among which were, Broadcasting service of Ekiti State, Radio Nigeria, Ado Ekiti, (Progress FM), Gold FM, Ilesha, Harmony FM, Kwara State, Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State(BCOS), Adaba Fm and Orange FM.
He however urged up and coming On-Air-Personalities to build a kind of content that can outlive them, always ready to build other people coming behind, and be hardworking.
