Ondo NUJ donates food items to Orphanage home

As part of event lined up to celebrate NUJ press week in Ondo state, members of the Nigerian Union of Journalist on monday donates some food items to the Orphanage home, at Oba-Ile in Akure North local government area of Ondo state. 

The donations which was chaired by the the NUJ Chairman, Ondo State Council , Mr  Adetona Aderoboye was witnessed by some members of Union in the state. 

Speaking with newsmen, Aderoboye noted that the food items were donated to the children of the Orphanage home who are the future leaders of tommorow. 

"Having realizing that they are part of our society, it is our duty as a union to reach out to the less privileged to show  our impact in them.  

"As part of our cooperate social responsibility, we have to give back to the society and we shall continue to do our best in the service of humanity. 

"Government have been playing an important role in thier up keep but we have to assist them. 

The Chairman while thanking the caregivers who are been taking care of the children however,  encouraged the government to do more for the benefit of the children in the Orphanage home. 

Speaking Earlier, Mrs Olorunfemi Temitope, a social worker in the Orphanage home, express her gratitude to the union on behalf of the Permanent Secretary of Women Affairs, for deeming it fit to remember them at the Orphanage home. 

"This items will go a long way in catering for the children wellbeing and will be adequately used. 

The programme lined up for the 2021 Press Week Celebrations in Ondo state  continues tommorow with a public lecture at Press Centre, Alagbaka-Akure by 10:00am
