The handball competition for the under-12 organized by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports,South West Zone, will commence on Thursday 27rh January, 2022.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council(OYSSC) Honourable Gbenga Adewusi (Arole) dropped this hint in Ibadan today.
Honourable Adewusi disclosed further that the Venue is Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort adding that the competition is scheduled to hold as from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th January 2022.
The Chairman stated further that there will be screening of players on Thursday 27th January, 2022 at the Obafemi Awolowo, Stadium, Liberty road, Oke Ado, Ibadan, stressing that all the disqualified players are to return to their various states immediately after the screening
Honourable. Ogunwusi also remarked that the competition is for boys and girls under the age of 12 adding that whoever had played for any state at the National Youth Games irrespective of age is not qualify to participate in the handball championship competitions,
He confirmed that Oyo state and other state in the south west will participate actively in the hand ball competitions.
He said further that trophies will be offered to the winners and certificate of participation to all players and officials.
He however, pledged on behalf of the State Government that adequate security will be provided for players and all the stakeholders at the venue during the competitions
