The Rector, I-con Universal Polytechnic, Osogbo, Engineer Oyeyemi has charged new students of the institution to be responsible, polite and be of a good characters worthy of emulation.
Oyeyemi stated while delivering his speech at the 2nd matriculation ceremony of over 300 students, held at Osun Forum Hall, Onward area, Osogbo.
Engineer Oyeyemi noted that aside from academic training offered by the institution, instilling moral lessons is also a core mission of the institution which all the students must subject themselves to, in other to succeed in all ramifications of their lives.
He added that portrayal of good conducts will serve as a road map to success and attainment of outstanding knowledge that would prepare them for possible competition wherever the find themselves.
He said, "tame your behaviour, tame your attitude, tame your dressing, tame your movement, tame your action and everything about yourself, with this, you're setting a goal and a standard for your future. Have a positive mindset, and you'll succeed".
Speaking at the ceremony, the guest lecturer, Pastor Ajibola, admonishes the matriculating students to set a goal of flying multiple colours during their stays on campus. This was contained in his speech tittles " The time of division is now".
Pastor Ajibola said that one of the gifts children can receive from their parents is the sound education. He noted that coming to Icon Universal Polytechnic is never a mistake but a God's plan to take them to the park of their life. He advised them never to see themselves inferior to their colleagues in public institution but rather make a strive in getting better and perfect than them. He added that I-CON Universal Polytechnic is an approved institution, recognized within and outside the country with all courses been accredited.
The matriculation was graced by many dignitaries in the state, among are: The Proprietor/ the Chairman of the institution, Dr. Ibrahim Adeoti, the royal fathers, Owa omiran of Esa Oke, Oba Adeyemi Adediran, Olu of Owode, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo among others.
