Hon.(Engr.) Clement.O.Faboyede, the former PDP State Chairman, present PDP National Ex-officio and one of the contestants in the just concluded Ondo Central Senatorial District primary election, admitted that the primary election conducted yesterday, 23rd of May 2022 was free, fair,transparent and void of any form of violence.
At the end of the primary election Barr. Ifedayo Adedipe, 82, the incumbent Senator Ayo Akinyelure, 58 and Hon. Faboyede Clement (57), with two(2) voided votes.
Faboyede made this statement during a meeting with media men in Akure today.
He expressed his profound gratitude to all the party leaders, delegates, excos and his supporters that voted for him.
Faboyede appreciate his colleagues and co-contestants saying they have put in their best by tranvering the entire length and breadth of the Six Local Government Areas that made up Ondo Central Senatorial District.
He congratulated Barr. Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN) for emerging as the winner at the just concluded primary election and maintained that he has maximum respect for him as a politician, community leader and legal luminary and pledged to support him during the forthcoming general election.
He appreciates the former governorship candidate of the party Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) for his supports and encouragements to make sure that the party remain in good shape, stressing that when everything was down and the APC government was against him, Jegede stood by him and did not leave him even while in court on political victimization by EFCC, i saw Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) behind me for more than 30 times pro-bono
Faboyede made it abundantly clear that he has no grudges with anybody. That he has never asked anyone,either on Facebook, WhatsApp and any other social media platform to use abusive words or statements on any of the the political leaders. He reaffirmed that Dr. Olusegun Mimiko is his boss and political leader and that he will ever remain so.
That he gave him the political opportunities in life. That even when his own political base was against him, Dr. Mimiko stood by him, appoint him and gave him free hands to operate as a first class commissioner.
He equally seized the opportunity to thank the good people of Ifedore LGA and Ondo Central Senatorial District for believing and supporting him and pledged to work with whoever the party picks as a candidate for any political office adding that the success of the party is his prominent to him.
He equally appreciated all the delegates for not allowing money to change their mind as they voted according to their consciences.
