Ondo state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has urged the state pilgrims to pray for the state and Nigeria in general as they begin the Hajj rites tomorrow, Friday July 1st 2022.
A pilgrim, Mr Bisi Ajiboye made this known in a write-up sent to The journalists yesterday.
Governor Akeredolu, through the Chairman of the Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Dhikrullah Adams Chandy while addressing them when they depart for Ilorin for the holy land last weekend said Akeredolu urged the pilgrims from the state to remember to pray for Ondo State and Nigeria in general at this trying times of security challenges.
He admonished them to abide by all regulations laid down by the Saudi Government and be good ambassadors of the State and Nigeria at large.
He said “You must therefore realise that you are going there for religious exercises, you must be careful not to go against regulations from the Saudi Government and abide by instructions given by officials of the Board.
The write up, showed that the historical visitation of prophet Muhammad’s life at Medinah has been done last Tuesday, while they will start proper Hajj rites today.
While they were sensitized before their departure at Ilorin, a member of FOMWAN Board of Trustees, Alhaja Aminat Akinpelumi enlightened them on performing the Hajj rites.
She hinted that the rites will begin with making their intention to the holy land, have their ritual birth and putting on their garment (Ikhram), to running round the sacred heart seven times, the Safa and Marwa also seven times and performing prayers.
They will later journey to Muna, the Arafat and Musdalifa for the throwing of 49 peebles, seven on the first throw then 21 each for the second and third throwing among others.
She urged them to always be more patient, listen, follow the instructions of the officials, control their temper and to take care of the aged which is part of worship.
