Nysc gets Ajuwaya ICT Hub in Oyo

An Information Communication Technology guru - NEW HORIZON  has delivered a standard ICT laboratory, Ajuwaya ICT Hub  to the NYSC, Secretariat in Oyo State

The well refurbished and equipped ICT Hub is set to provide corps members the opportunity to  learn ICT courses like graphics, Ic3, Project management and lots more at affordable fees. 

It would equally promote ICT skills among corps members and members of staff.

Commissioning the ICT Hub, the NYSC Oyo State Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe applauded the sponsors for partnering with the Scheme. 

She said that such private public partnership would help boost the effective service delivery of the Scheme's ICT unit, being one of the accredited cyber cafe by the NYSC management.

She charged the corps members to make optimal use of the hub while encouraging other members of the society to use the services which will assist in generating revenue for the Scheme. 

Ogbuogebe said that the management had to embrace the establishment of the ICT center due to a lot of advantages it portends part of which is providing at the doorstep opportunities  for corps members  to learn any ICT skills.

The Head NYSC Oyo ICT Miss Izuegbu Ada appreciated the State Coordinator and the management for granting the approval for the execution of the project.

In his remark, the General Manager, New Horizon South West Region, Mr Peter Ilesanmi, stated that the youth friendly ICT firm New Horizon decided to embark on the project to assist the graduate youths to develop their potentials in the information and technology sector. Since every profession now requires ICT skills.

He further said that the current strategy of Google is to engage individuals with ICT proficiency, thereby necessitating the renovation and equipping of the ICT hub. 

He called on corps members to make good use of the facility while assuring the NYSC management of its assistance in the ICT section. 

The items provided by the sponsors of the project include,  15 desktop Computers, 1 optima projector, partitioning/ renovation of the entire ICT building,1 Hisense air conditioner,tables for the desktop and chairs.
