Students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, have lamented over hike in the price of commodities which has become unbearable for them
They made this known while speaking with our correspondent recently via chat
Some of the students who pleaded anonymity said the hike has also taught them how to manage things in this present situation in Nigeria.
"Ordinarily, in Nigeria today, using Gas to cook is very common, but the current situation now has led us to start using charcoal, firewood, reverting back to the olden days"
"The increase in gas refilling price is the main propeller of our resolve to cook our meals with firewood, so as to conserve the money we have for other things in the institution.
Our correspondent observed that students are now preparing meals in a way popular among people living in a rural setting (making food with wood popularly known as firewood).
They however expressed delight in using Firewood, charcoal to cook saying, "we are not stealing to defile our reputation.
