The National Youth Service Corps Oyo State Coordinator, Mrs grace Ogbuogebe has advised the 2021 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members who have served in the 33 Local Government of the ‘Pacesetter’ State to make money in a legitimate way and put their intelligence to work amidst unemployment challenges.
The State Coordinator gave the charge during her monitoring of the low- key Passing Out Programme held at the NYSC Offices in Ibadan North East and Lagelu Local Government Areas in Ibadan, Oyo State.
She advised the outgoing Corps members to apply creative thinking and individual initiative to add value to their lives and also explore the funding options available to them having gone through the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training to establish whatever business they have chosen.
Ogbuogebe equally encouraged them to continue upholding the ideals of the Scheme and not be a liability to their parents and the nation.
She asked them to apply the zeal for making impact in the society while warning them to shun cyber crime, and other criminal activities that may truncate their destiny.
She also commended them for contributing their quota to the development of the nation through various Community Development Service Projects executed to impact the lives of their host communities especially in the rural areas and particularly in Education, Health, Agriculture and other important areas.
A Corps member Owoeye Kayode Emmanuel OY/21B/6797 who distinguished himself in the course of the service year was also presented the letter of Commendation by the State Coordinator.
The project executed by the Corps member is Skills Empowerment and book donations to eight Secondary Schools in Awe, Afijio Local Government.
Highlight of the programme is the State Coordinator’s presentation of sample Certificate of National Service to some of the outgoing corps members.
