Fasoranti remains Afenifere leader -- Yoruba group



A Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, the Defense for Yoruba People's Right (DYPR) has said that the Elder Stateman Pa Reuben Fasoranti remains the leader of Afenifere 

The group in a statement signed by its National President, Otunba Muyideen Opeyemi and made available to Journalists  in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday,  throw its weight behind the decision by  Afenifere to support the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The group in the statement also described the move by Pa Ayo Adebanjo to support the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former Governor of Anambra State Mr Peter Obi, as not the resolves and resolution of the entire Yoruba race.

Describing Chief Adebanjo as a Yoruba man whose attitude within Afenifere always against the wishes of the entire members in any issue relating to the development of the race.

The DYPR President who noted that his organisation has been following Afenifere since time of the Late Pa Abraham Adesanya, described Afenifere as a socio-cultural organisation and always protect the interest of the entire Yoruba race.

He called on the leaders of the Yoruba race to remain focus and always protect the interest of the race before, during and after the Yoruba races.

Lamenting on what he called lack of development in the southwest region of the country, especially on road infrastructure and lopsided appointment by the Buhari-led administration, but assure that if Bola become President more development; will swing into the southwest region  of the country.

Stressing the need for the people of the Yoruba race to remain unity and speak with one voice, shun politics of bitterness vendetta, however expressed optimism that if Tinumbu as a Yoruba man win the next presidential election more development would come to the people of the race.

Commending the Governor of Oyo State, Mr Seyi Makinde, over the present of his representative during the recent visit of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to the resident of Pa Fasoranti in Akure, described the Governor as a good politician whose always has the interest of the Yoruba rest in his heart.
