The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps Oyo State, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe has encouraged corps members to embrace Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme of the NYSC for self reliance.
Ogbuogebe made this call during the Accesspreneur- NYSC business plan competition for 2022 Batch C stream one Orientation Course, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Iseyin.
She stated that the programme was organized to encourage and reward corps members who are young Entrepreneurs help facilitate their training and mentoring for self reliance and national development.
Describing the corps members as future and hope of Nigeria, she enjoined them to grab the initiative of Accessprenuer for start up funds which will create opportunities for them as well as providing mentorship to help the growth of their businesses.
The Regional Sales Manager, Access bank PLC, Mrs Adenike Ogunsugba appreciated the NYSC Oyo State management for providing an enabling environment for the programme .
She said in line with their sustainability ethos, they are committed to improving the lives of people, supporting the growth and development of their host communities.
This according to her made them partnered with Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme of NYSC to encourage young and emerging Entrepreneurs.
She equally said Access bank has partnered with various vocational and Skills development Agencies to provide training hubs and facilitate learning and collaboration among youths in creative industry including but not limited to TV and Filming production, music production, photography and fashion.
In her closing remark, the State Coordinator Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe while presenting the dummy cheque to the winners, appreciated the Access bank for making the event a success.
She hoped that with the financial support and mentorship the winners and beneficiaries of Accessprenuer competition would run profitable businesses and through the implementation of their innovative ideas would impact lives and ultimately the economy.
At the end of the competition,
Ihebunadu Emmanuel Code OY /22C /1257 came 1st getting a cash prize of One Million Naira only, Asuquo Sunday, with State Code OY/ 22C /0548, coming second, getting seven hundred and fifty thousand naira only, while the third position, Odeyale Michael OY/ 22C /0878 receive a cash prize of five hundred thousand naira only.
Other corps member who recieve cash prize included, Ogunyolu Ridwan, LA/22C/3469 with a cash prize of four hundred thousand naira only, Ozor Gift
LA/ 22c/ 0960 with a cash of two hundred and fifty thousand naira only.
While the other five contestants received consolation prizes of hundred thousand naira each.
