Protest rocks Ondo over President Buhari new directives

Angry mob on Friday staged a protest in Ore, headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo state over the recent directive of President Muhammadu Buhari authenticating only the old 200 naira note as legal tender.

The protest which started at the early hours of today caused gridlock along the overhead bridge in Ore.

The Hope correspondent who visited the scene gathered that tyres were burnt along the ever busy Ore-Benin expressway.

Some residents who spoke with our correspondent on the condition of anonymity said the masses are suffering with the new directive of President Buhari.

“We the masses are suffering, people are hungry, we are protesting to show our grievances, there is no vehicular movement here.”
