As Nigeria holds governorship and state assembly elections, the Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Most Rev. Emmanuel Badejo, urges Oyo citizens especially, to cast aside all hatred and not to destroy their patrimony as they cast their votes.

Badejo gave the advice in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Ibadan.

Badejo said "My dear people of Oyo State. These Governorship and assembly elections are decisive.

"I appeal to all, young and old, please play your part and vote, be wise, truthful and be safe. Cast aside all hatred and violence so that we don’t destroy our own patrimony".

The Catholic Bishop advised citizens to be calm and law abiding and be sure that God would act in the favour of the just, after casting their votes.

"May God who loves us and our country so much intervene today for truth, justice and peace in Oyo State.

"The people shall not suffer in vain. LENT-  Let Evil Not Triumph, it shall end in peace by God's grace," he said. (NAN)
