FUOYE Don wins 2023 Claude Ake Visiting Chair

A professor of political science, Federal University Oye Ekiti, Professor Olusola Jeremiah Omotola has won the 2023 Claude Ake visiting chair at the department of Peace and Conflict Research, Upsala University, Sweeden.

The former Deputy Vice- Chancellor in charge of Administration won the most prestigious honor at the Nordic Africa Institute, Upsala, Sweden named in honour of the famous Political Economist, Prof Claude Ake who died in an air crash in 1996, 

The visiting chair position is one of the most prestigious fellowships in the field of Political Science, and it is reserved for accomplished scholars in the field.

Prof Omotola will be at Upsala, Sweden for some months to carry out cutting-edge research that will advance the course of scholarship and humanity.

The selection of Prof Omotola for this very prestigious position is a validation of the value of hard work, which is a lesson to be emulated. 

He stumbled on the advertisement on the due date, 1st March, 2023, wrote and submitted his proposal to beat the deadline.

Newsline NG however gathered that the Kogi Born professor had received a letter in the early hours of yesterday, that he has been unanimously and enthusiastically approved by the selection committee.
