Methodist Church Honours Ondo Commissioner, Hon. Sowore with Knight of John Wesley Award*





The atmosphere of Ifaki-Ekiti, Ekiti State was electrified on Sunday October 1, 2023, as the Ondo State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Co-operative Services, Hon. (Barr.) Akinwumi Sowore was awarded the highly reverred Knight of John Wesley (KJW), by the Methodist Church Nigeria.

The knighthood was conferred on the honourable commissioner and other great personalities across the country by the Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence (Dr.) Oliver Ali Aba, during a recognition service and award of merit, held at Methodist Cathedral, Ifaki-Ekiti.

The conferment of Knight of John Wesley award is in recognition of the awardees' sterling service to the church of God and humanity, most especially by putting to use their God-given talents, positions and resources to promote God’s work in their various communities, churches, the nation and the world at large. 



They are people that have left indelible impressions of their contributions and achievements as timeless legacy in the collective memory of the people of God.

While speaking, the newly adorned 'Sir', Hon. (Barr.) Akinwumi Sowore appreciated the Methodist Church Nigeria for the recognition, saying he would continue to be a channel of blessing to people, communities, and the church.
