NMA commends Yahaya Bello's investments in health sector in Kogi

The Nigerian Medical Association, Kogi State chapter, has lauded Governor Yahaya Bello for his massive investments in Kogi health sector, declaring that the governor's giant strides in the sector are unmatched in the country. The medical doctors said under the administration of Governor Bello, the health sector received the greatest attention and commitment in terms of standard health care delivery for the people of the state in the last eight years, noting that "this has never been witnessed before in the state." WE APPRECIATE OUR FORMER PRESENTERS It is no longer news that some notable staff presenters of Fresh FM Nigeria have taken their exits from the esteemed group of radio communication outfits. Drink enough water to avoid dehydration, kidney problems during harmattan – Medical experts

The experts, from University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ibadan. Dr Femi Popoola, a Consultant Community Physician, urged citizens to always stay warm and take lots of water, liquid and fruits. Popoola listed some health-promoting measures during harmattan to include: wearing layered clothing to cope with the effect of cold. Increased exclusive breastfeeding panacea to cold in children – Paediatric pulmonologists

Falade, of the University of Ibadan, made the recommendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Ibadan. Falade, also a honorary Consultant Paediatrician, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, highlighted other treatments to include cleaning of nasal discharge in infants and in older children and administering home remedy for cough. This, he said could comprise weak tea plus lime or palm oil mixed with sugar, given with a teaspoon thrice a day. “If the cough is associated with fast breathing and/or difficulty in breathing, help should be sought at a primary health care centre or clinics to evaluate for pneumonia, which is a dangerous illness,” he said. Chairman of the association, Mrs Folasade Aladeniyi, said this on Wednesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ibadan, while reacting to the news of Akeredolu’s death. NAN reports that Akeredolu died in the early hours of Wednesday at a German hospital where he was receiving treatment for leukemia. The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is dead. A very family member as well as other reliable sources in the state government confirmed to ROVING REPORTERS on Wednesday that Akeredolu died in Germany, though the details still sketchy. “Akeredolu is dead; he died in Germany and not in Lagos as being speculated ” the source said. He was 67 years old. The ailing governor returned to Nigeria in September following a three-month medical leave in Germany and only recently proceeded on another one after he was directed by President Bola Tinubu to hand over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa. His deputy, Aiyedatiwa has been standing in as Acting Governor. Joseph Akinfenwa, has urged President Bola Tinubu to do all within his powers to inspire Nigerians and uplift the country . Akinfenwa stated this in his Christmas message issued on Sunday in Ibadan. He also called on leaders at all levels to emulate Christ’s leadership style, adding that divine reward awaits those who defend the cause of the masses. “To our political office holders, leadership is a trust; there shall be a day of reckoning. “Let all who are in power today conduct themselves in a way that on the last day, they shall not be disgraced,” he said. Christmas: Praise more than you pray, RCCG Pastor tells Nigerians

Esan gave the advice during the church’s Christmas Sunday service in Ibadan. Citing Psalm 103, the RCCG Pastor urged Nigerians to imbibe the culture of praising, worshipping and thanking God in spite of all odds.
