Nysc Mgt visits Ondo CP, Abayomi, seeks sustained policing of corps Lodges



The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Abayomi, Peter Oladipo, has assured management of the National Youth Service Corps in the state of adequate surveillance of all the Corps Lodges across all Local Governments

CP Abayomi gave the assurance when he received in audience, the NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mr. Sam Amaramiro Pepple at the Command Headquarters in Akure, the state capital. 

The Police Chief, while promising information sharing and communication with NYSC declared that the Command would ensure that corps members, who are precious citizens of the country are adequately protected in all the nooks and crannies of the State.

The CP, in asserting that protection of corps members is sacrosanct and on the priority list of the Command, allayed any fear whatsoever in any part of the state, submitting that the Command has enough manpower and logistics to give topnotch services to indigenes and residents of the Sunshine State.

The security expert disclosed that the Nigeria Police will continue to support NYSC to achieve the set objectives as designed by the founding fathers of the Scheme. 

"The corps members serving nationwide are our children and we shall do everything humanly possible within the legal framework of our operations to ensure that they enjoy their service year, and I wish to enjoin the management of the Scheme to continue the mentoring programme which has been yielding positive results".

Earlier in his opening remarks, the State Coordinator, Mr. Sam Amaramiro Pepple lauded the fatherly role of  the Police Command towards the security of corps members serving in the state.

The State Coordinator noted that Nigeria Police is synonymous with the National Youth Service Corps, and urged the Command to sustain surveillance on Corps Lodges and other residential buildings occupied by the corps members in the state.

Pepple, who acknowledged that the Command has been fulfilling the good and robust agreement to secure the corps members, tasked them not to rest on their oars so that the bond between the two federal agencies would remain stronger.

He appreciated the calibre and quality of officers and men that the Command deploys to the camp each time there is orientation course, saying that their presence has given assurance to the corps members that NYSC has critical stakeholders that are ready to offer compact service delivery to them throughout the service year.

The NYSC Ondo State boss hinted that the Scheme will continue to leverage on the support of the Command to achieve best for the corps members, pleading that the CP should leave his doors and that of his management team open as their may be need to call or get in touch with them even at odd hours.

"We have unshaken faith in the operations of the Nigeria Police, and like Oliver Twist, we are requesting for priority attention and listening ears each time we call or beckon on you, even at odd times".

The visit was part of the State Coordinator's courtesy call on critical stakeholders of the Scheme.
