The Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has challenged corps members deployed to Ondo State to positively impact their host communities so that the future of Nigeria and coming generations will be secure in their hands. As the 2024 Batch 'B' (Stream II) orientation course commences nationwide on Wednesday, 28th August, the State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps in Ondo State, Mr. Sam Pepple has charged the officials who would be participating in the exercise to make camp atmosphere conducive for Corps Members. The State Coordinator gave the charge on Tuesday evening at the Multipurpose Hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare-Akoko, during the camp officials maiden meeting. He said that the Corps Members should be considered as their children and therefore urged them to be more compassionate when receiving them, as the first impression they would create will linger in the memory of the graduate youths for a very long time to come. Lawyer in trouble over ‘will’ forgery, lands in court

A 49-year-old legal practitioner, Olusegun Agunloye on Thursday docked before a Chief Magistrates' Court sitting in Akure over allegedly forging a dead man’s will. Agunloye was said to have presented a fake testamentary instrument (Will) of one Late Benjamin Chibuzor Ejelonu to the court probate registry in Akure. The Hope Metro reports that the lawyer, whose office is at Sunshine Law Pavillion K/27 Opposite Oba's Palace Arigidi Akoko, was arraigned by the police on a two-count charge of conspiracy and forgery. Police prosecutor, Nelson Akintimehin told the court that the defendant committed the offence on September 7, 2023, at about 10:30 am at the probate registry, High Court in Akure. Ondo State Governor, yesterday flagged-off the grading of 25km Rural Farm Road at Benin Owena Multipurpose Dam and 200 hectares of land for vegetable plantation  with irrigation system in Igbara Oke, Ifedore Local Government Area of the State. While performing the flagged-off, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor to the Governor on Agric and Agribusiness Mr Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola, said it was in line with the commitment of the present administration under the leadership of Luck Orimisan Ayedatiwa to the development of the grassroots and ensuring food security by constructing access roads to farms. The 2024 annual Ijapo Ages Stars FC (IASFC) intra club competition kicked off at Ijapo/Housing field in Akure with the opening match ended 3-2 in favour of Team Cherry who came from two goals down to defeat Team Apple. Banana, however, played a 1-1 draw against Date- Plum in the second match of the grassroot football competition. Goals from Taiwo Adeniran and Johnson Akintayo gave Cherry a leveler, having trailed Apple who were leading from Leye Adewole and Shayo Olayeni goals in the first half of the enthralling encounter.
