As part of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa's commitment to providing potable water for the people of Ondo State, the Ministry of Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene is set to begin water testing in the three Senatorial Districts in the state.
The Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Hon. Ayodele Akande, made this known during a meeting with environmental health officers from Ondo Central Senatorial District of the state at the Water Corporation Board Room in Alagbaka, Akure.
Hon. Akande appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa for providing water testing kits, noting that they would help monitor drinking water quality and reduce waterborne diseases in the state.
Earlier, Mrs. Victoria Opeyemi Adetoye, Administrative Secretary of the Ministry, reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to improving hygiene and public health across the state.
She emphasized the importance of safe drinking water and urged environmental health officers to collaborate and diligently carry out their duties.
She also noted that the officers would serve as liaison officers between the ministry and local governments.
Representing the environmental health officers, Sanitarian Ayodeji Balogun from Akure South and Sanitarian Oluboyede Ayorinde from Akure North, both expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for the testing kits, promising total cooperation and noting the kits' usefulness in the field.
