Tenant allegedly assaults landlady, lands in court

A 29-year-old woman, Blessing Abiodun, was docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, for allegedly assaulting her landlady.

The police charged Abiodun with assault and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace.

She however pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Elisha Tellang, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Oct.22, at about 8.50 p.m, at Akala area of Ibadan.

Tellang alleged that the defendant hit Mrs Oluranti Akintobi, her landlady on  her right hand.

He said the defendant conducted herself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by engaging in such acts.

The Prosecutor added that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 351 and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Magistrate Moyosore Atanda admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000 and two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Nov.12, for hearing. (NAN)
