An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, Mr. Segun Abiodun, has formally written to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the Chairman of the party in the state, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, raising concerns over the alleged illegal occupation of the APC party Secretary in Ilaje Local Government Area by Malam Malon Ogbaro, the Executive Director, Finance of OSOPADEC.
In the letter, dated 26th January, 2026 and made available to journalists on Monday, Mr. Abiodun accused Malam Malon Ogbaro of unlawfully occupying the party’s Secretary, a development he described as a violation of the APC’s constitution and internal administrative procedures.
Mr. Abiodun, who identified himself as a loyal party stakeholder and grassroots mobiliser, expressed dismay over what he termed the continued tolerance of the situation by party leadership, warning that it could undermine discipline and internal democracy within the party at the local level.
According to him, the office of the Party’s Secretary at the local government level is a strategic asset of the party and should only be occupied by duly recognised officials appointed or elected in line with APC guidelines. He argued that allowing an alleged unauthorised individual who occupies full-time appointment in the oil-rich commission and also retains Party’s office sets a dangerous precedent and could fuel internal disputes.
The APC chieftain, therefore called on Governor Aiyedatiwa and the state party chairman to intervene decisively by ordering the immediate replacement of Malam Ogbaro with a legally recognised party officer. He issued a three-day ultimatum for the matter to be resolved, stating that failure to act would leave him with no option but to seek legal redress.
“This is not a personal matter but one that concerns the integrity, structure, and future of our great party in Ilaje,” Abiodun said.
“Prompt action will prevent avoidable tension and protect the image of the APC.”
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Ondo State APC leadership nor Malam Ogbaro had issued an official response to the allegations.
Political observers note that the development comes at a time when the APC is intensifying efforts to strengthen internal cohesion ahead of future electoral engagements in the state.
