Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Bisexual Activities in Ibadan, Hunt for Suspected Partner Intensifies

Tension gripped parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, following the arrest of a man identified as Bola Oladi during a stop-and-search operation conducted by security operatives in the city. 

According to sources, the suspect was apprehended by police officers on 28th January 2026, during a routine patrol when security personnel allegedly carried out a search on him and subsequently examined the contents of his mobile phone.

Investigators reportedly discovered what they described as “vital evidence” on the device, including private conversations, photographs, and other digital materials allegedly linking the suspect to bisexual activities. 


 The discovery, according to security sources, immediately raised suspicion and led to Bola Oladi’s detention for further interrogation at a police facility in Ibadan. Police sources further disclosed that investigations have now been extended to another man identified as Ademola Olufemi Adedeji, who is believed to be closely connected to the suspect and is currently being sought by authorities. 

A source familiar with the investigation revealed that details extracted from the suspect’s phone allegedly pointed investigators toward the identity and possible location of the fleeing associate.

 “The suspect was intercepted during a stop-and-search exercise in Ibadan. During the investigation, officers allegedly discovered evidence on his phone linking him to bisexual activities. 

Efforts are ongoing to track down another individual identified as Ademola Olufemi Adedeji, who is believed to be his partner,” the source stated. 


 The development has reportedly generated reactions among residents in parts of the city, with some commending the police for what they described as active security surveillance, while others expressed concerns over privacy rights and the extent of searches conducted on personal devices. 

 Legal observers also noted that issues surrounding digital privacy, personal freedoms, and law enforcement procedures continue to generate debate in Nigeria, especially in cases involving personal communications and electronic evidence . 


 As of the time of filing this report, the Oyo State Police Command had not released an official statement confirming the arrest or providing further details about the ongoing investigation. 


Meanwhile, security operatives were said to have intensified efforts to locate the second suspect as investigations continue.

Court Strikes out Oniju of Iju-Odo Chieftaincy Declaration

A High court sitting in Okitipupa has nullified the Oniju of Iju-Odo Chieftaincy declaration, holding that the State Government had no power to create a new chieftaincy without the consent of the Rebuja of Osooro land, the prescribed authority over chieftaincy matters in the communities within Osooro land, including Iju-Odo Community.
