Today marks a significant milestone in Ondo State’s journey toward agricultural transformation and economic growth as we gather for the groundbreaking ceremony of Noreta Farms’ 15-hectare high-tech greenhouse project in Owena-Idanre, led by His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
Governor Aiyedatiwa has consistently demonstrated that Ondo State is open, ready, and welcoming to investors. Noreta Farms is a clear reflection of this vision in action.
This is more than a farm. It is a privately funded, technology-driven agribusiness project designed to deliver industrial-scale food production using smart, precision, and sustainable greenhouse systems. Located strategically along the Akure–Ondo Road, the 15-hectare flagship site introduces climate-controlled, hydroponic greenhouses that enable year-round farming, free from the limits of seasonality and climate uncertainty.
Phase 1 includes fully automated multispan greenhouses, supported by integrated energy solutions, efficient water management, cold storage, and modern packhouse facilities. With professional management and food safety systems aligned with global standards, Noreta Farms is transforming agriculture from a seasonal activity into a predictable, scalable, and commercially viable enterprise.
The farm will produce high-value vegetables such as tomatoes, coloured bell peppers, habanero peppers, and cucumbers, while remaining flexible enough to support other specialty crops as market demands evolve. This ensures both long-term relevance and strong economic value.
Beyond production, the project will generate employment, promote skills development, and strengthen the agricultural value chain. It will supply modern markets, retailers, hospitality businesses, processors, and export buyers, helping to stabilize supply, reduce losses, and improve food quality.
This initiative aligns directly with the Governor’s commitment to sustainable development, food security, and private sector-led growth. It sends a strong message to local and international investors, including our diaspora community, that Ondo State is a place where serious investments are welcomed and supported.
