The 2026 ICAN Western Zonal Conference has come and gone, but the memories of the event will linger on. One of the highlights of the conference was the presentation of an ambassador award to Chief O. Bunmi Alade FCA, a renowned chattered accountant and respected member of the accounting community.
The award was presented to Chief Alade in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Western Zone, a testament to his tireless efforts in promoting excellence in the accounting profession.
The ceremony was held at the Highpoint Event Centre, CBD-ALAUSA, Ikeja, Lagos, on Friday, 6th February, 2026, and was attended by prominent members of the accounting community.
The event was filled with pomp and pageantry, with dignitaries from various sectors of the economy in attendance.
Newsline NG gathered that Chief Alade was visibly moved by the recognition, and expressed his gratitude to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) for the award.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Alade promised to continue to contribute to the growth and development of the accounting profession, and urged his colleagues to strive for excellence in all they do.
He however thanked his family, friends, and colleagues for their support and encouragement.
