A respected community leader and prominent stakeholder in Ekiti State, Bashorun Olugbenga Fajana, Agoketoorunse II, has congratulated the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Henry Oladele Alake, on his recent appointment as the Chief Spokesman for the Tinubu/Shettima 2027 re-election campaign.
Fajana, in a congratulatory message, described Alake’s appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his wealth of experience, intellectual capacity, political communication skills and longstanding commitment to the success of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He expressed confidence that Alake would bring his extensive experience in journalism, strategic communication and public affairs to bear on the new responsibility, particularly in effectively communicating the achievements and policies of the Tinubu administration to Nigerians.
Alake, a veteran journalist and former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, currently serves as the Minister of Solid Minerals Development. His background in journalism and political communication has seen him occupy several strategic positions in public service and political campaigns.
Fajana said the choice of Alake for such a critical role was a testament to the confidence reposed in him by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Tinubu/Shettima political family.
According to him, the task of effectively communicating the administration’s programmes and achievements requires someone with a deep understanding of the media, politics and the expectations of the Nigerian people.
He noted that Alake’s experience as a journalist and political strategist would be valuable in presenting the administration’s policies and achievements in a clear, credible and compelling manner.
Fajana further commended Alake for his contributions to the development of Nigeria’s solid minerals sector, noting that his leadership has continued to attract attention to the country’s mineral resources and the need to derive greater economic value from them.
He also recalled Alake’s leadership role at the continental level, noting that the minister was re-elected in January 2026 as Chairman of the Africa Minerals Strategic Group, a development President Tinubu described as a vote of confidence in his leadership and advocacy for Africa’s minerals sector.
The Ekiti stakeholder said Alake’s re-election to lead the continental minerals body further demonstrated his capacity to build consensus, articulate strategic positions and provide effective leadership beyond Nigeria.
Fajana urged the minister to remain focused and committed to the new assignment, stressing that the 2027 election would require effective communication, grassroots engagement and a strong presentation of the administration’s achievements.
He expressed optimism that Alake would deploy his professional experience and understanding of the Nigerian political landscape to strengthen the campaign’s communication strategy and help deepen public awareness of the administration’s policies and programmes.
He also called on members and supporters of the APC, particularly in Ekiti State and across the South-West, to support Alake in his new assignment and work collectively toward the success of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.
Fajana prayed for wisdom, good health and greater accomplishments for Alake, describing him as an illustrious son of Ekiti State whose accomplishments in journalism, public service and national politics have continued to attract recognition.
He said the appointment was not only a personal achievement for Alake but also a source of pride to Ekiti people, particularly those who have followed his career from journalism to political administration and now national leadership.
Fajana however expressed confidence that Alake would discharge the responsibility with professionalism, diligence and dedication, while contributing meaningfully to the re-election bid of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
