According to the him, despite the grief occasioned by her death, the family found consolation in the belief that Mama Bankole had completed her earthly journey and would be reunited with the saints on the resurrection morning.

Described as a bridge-builder and unifier, the deceased have played a significant role in fostering peace, unity and love within the Bankole and Oliyide families throughout her lifetime.

Her devotion to Christianity was also highlighted, with the family recalling her unwavering commitment to the things of God.

The tribute noted that although Madam Bankole had no formal education, she made education a major priority for her children and members of her extended family. She encouraged them to pursue education, become independent and contribute positively to society.

Her influence, according to the family, extended beyond her biological children, as she treated the children of her siblings and members of the wider community with the same love and care.

The deceased was also remembered for her generosity and kindness, with members of the family recalling how she encouraged them to give and assist others even during periods when she had little herself.

One of the most emotional parts of the tribute was the recollection of how Mama Bankole supported one of her children during a life-threatening attack. According to the family, she reportedly borrowed money to ensure that her child received the necessary support when the situation appeared hopeless.

The family member recalled that she wept and prayed fervently during the difficult period, expressing gratitude that her prayers were eventually answered and the situation turned around.

Beyond her immediate family, Madam Bankole was remembered for her warmth and affection towards her children’s spouses, grandchildren and members of the extended family.

The tribute specifically recalled her close relationship with Deaconess Florence Olufunmilayo Bankole, whom she reportedly welcomed and cared for from the first day she met her until her death.

Her grandchildren in Osogbo, including Sam-Sam, Emmanuel and Timothy, were also said to have cherished memories of their grandmother, particularly her pepper soup, which the family said would remain a lasting memory.

The family further recalled her love for music and her active participation in church activities. Her dancing skills reportedly attracted admiration during the last GBOLUWAGA celebration held a few months before her death.

One of the songs particularly associated with the deceased was said to be, “Through the love of Christ our Saviour, all will be well,” a hymn that reportedly remained close to her heart throughout her lifetime.

The family described her death as a major loss that would leave a difficult-to-fill void in both the Bankole and Oliyide families, as well as in the church community where she was known for her devotion and active participation.
