Ondo govt names varsity after Agagu

The Ondo State government has named Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH), Okitipupa after a former governor of the state, the late Dr Olusegun Agagu. The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Sunday Ogunduyile, told newsmen on Tuesday in Okitipupa that the institution would now be called Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OASUTECH). Ogunduyile said that the renaming of the university, which had been gazette, was to immortalise the former governor who, he said, had contributed immensely to the establishment of the institution. He commended Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for acceding to the yearnings of Ikale indigenes in renaming the institution after their son. “I think it is a welcome idea, aimed at immortalizing the late Agagu for his immense contributions to the establishment of the institution. Man arrested for raping a teenager during Night Vigil in a popular Ondo Church

The Ondo State Command has arrested a 38year-old man, Olamide Awogbayi for allegedly raping a 13year-old at a Popular Church, “Prayer Centre” located at Idanre road, Akure. The incident occurred during a Night Vigil on the first of February, 2020 at 11:00pm, inside an uncompleted building, near the Prayer Centre. According to the state Police Spokesman, Mr Femi Joseph, “On The 1/2/2020 At About 2300hrs While Prayer Center Situated Along Idanre Akure Was Holding Its Vigil X One Olamide Awogbayi (M) Ageq 38yrs Took Babalola Favour (F)Age 13yrs Away To A Nearby Uncompleted Building.” Joseph Said, “And Defiled Her X In The Early Hours Of Date The Girl Was Declared To Have Been Missing By The Parents Until This Evening When She Was Recovered. “And The Suspect Arrested X The Said Suspect Will Be Transferred Soonest After Preliminary Investigation X,” the PPRO said. Nysc DG clears the air on the allowance

The Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has cleared the air on the amount approved as Corps Members’ monthly allowance by the Federal Government in line with the new National Minimum Wage. He disclosed this while speaking to Corps Members at the NYSC Bauchi State Secretariat during his working visit to the State. Ibrahim explained that contrary to the various amounts being circulated on the social media, the sum of thirty-three thousand naira had been approved as the new rate. He also said provision had been made for the new allowance in the year 2020 Budget, adding that payment would commence as soon as funds are released by the appropriate authorities. Speaking further, he advised the Corps Members to always be security conscious just as he warned against rumour mongering and negative usage of the Social Media. Man dies during sex romp with a young lady in Abuja

 A lady, Miss Victory Amaize, has been arrested and detained by the Police operatives at Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, after she reportedly engaged a man, Danjuma Yahaya Alli, in marathon sex in a popular hotel and he eventually died on top of her. GIO TV reports that the incident happened at the popular Grand Ibro Hotel, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, FCT, where the romp took place. The lady, Victory, was said to be facing murder charges based on Police suspicion that she might have engaged the deceased, Danjuma Yahaya Alli, in marathon sex that eventually caused his death. The alleged tragedy was exposed after the Chief Security Officer of the hotel, Onyido Sule, went to the Police at Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, on 22nd January 2020, reported that a lady, Victory Amaize, from Life Camp in Abuja, screamed from her hotel room to the management over what happened. One of the children of popular trado-medical practitioner, Alhaji Fatai Yusuf, said his father was killed hours after he received a call that his workers burnt some important documents in his Igando, Lagos office The son said the family was notified of the burnt files around 7am on Thursday, about 10 hours before the alternative therapist was killed by some gunmen on the Abeokuta-Igbo-Ora-Iseyin Road, Oyo State. Speaking with our correspondent on Saturday, the son who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the matter, confirmed that  Oko Oloyun  was buried on Friday evening. Police Arrest Oko Oloyun‘s Staff, Escorts

  Oyo State Police Command on Friday said it has arrested for interrogation,  the two police escorts that were with Fatai ‘Oko Oloyun’ Yusuf when he was shot and  killed on Eruwa-Igbo-Ora  Road on Thursday. Some staff of the late traditional medicine practitioner are also being questioned for possible involvement in his death. “Some of the staff and his two (2) Police escorts are being questioned by a team of crack detectives from the homicide section of State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID Iyaganku, Ibadan with a view of finding and apprehending the fleeing suspects who wrecked the heinous act,” police spokesman Gbenga Fadeyi said in a statement. Fadeyi said the deceased could have been killed due to an alleged bookkeeping records fraud he detected in his Lagos office.
