Mrs Akeredolu launches Children Story book on Coronavirus to mark her 67th birthday

The wife of Ondo State governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu today launched Coronavirus awareness story book for children to  mark her 67th birthday The event which was In a low-key  due to the COVID-19 pandemic was filled with  few number of her Arabinrin Junior Tennis Club’s children at the Akure Recreational Club’s court, Oke-Eda.  Mrs Akeredolu visited Motherless home Oba-Ile, Ago-Ireti Leprosarium, and Hope Orphanage   where she distributed the book and other goodies to celebrate with them. Mrs Akeredolu had earlier addressed her friends via Facebook where she spoke extensively on how she came about the idea of launching a story book for children, entitled “Awareness Because of Coronavirus, (ABC), the Superheroes Story”. According to her, there was a need to put the coronavirus experience in book for children about what they are supposed to do to contain the spread. A leading Governorship aspirant on the platform of APC in Ondo state, Ife Oyedele has decided to work together with Governor Akeredolu in Monday’s primary election. Oyedele said he was not compelled to stepdown for Governor Akeredolu. His decision came twenty- four hours to the primary election. Oyedele, who made his decision known this evening at a meeting with the governor at the government house said the primary election would be without bloodshed while assuring his total support for the party. He said: ” All of us will work together for this election and I want to assure you that the interest of the citizens of Ondo State is more important than any other thing, and we are determined to ensure that we work together only for what will benefit the citizens of Ondo state. “We will work together to unite the party, to rebuild the party, unite our people so that we can have rapid economic development; we call on other participants to also support us in this quest”.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has disclosed the identity of the killer of Tolulope Arotile, Nigeria’s first female combat helicopter pilot. At a briefing in Abuja, Ibikunle Daramola, air force spokesman, gave the name of the person who drove the car that killed Arotile as Nehemiah Adejoh. He said he is an ex-classmate of the deceased who died at the age of 24. “Mr Nehemiah Adejoh, Mr Igbekele Folorunsho and Mr Festus Gbayegun, drove past her in a Kia Sorento SUV, with Registration Number AZ 478 MKA,”. How missing teenager was found dead in Ondo

There was  pandemonium  in Eshe in Akoko north west local government area of Ondo state over the disappearance of a 13 year old girl , a native of a neighboring Irun Akoko who came to sell pork meat at Eshe Akoko market. Report from a source said, an okada rider from Eshe reportedly took the girl to her Irun hometown after closing from market. The parents however did not see the girl and thereafter reported to the monarch of Eshe, Oba Ojo Adewumi who immediately ordered a search and rescue mission which discovered the corpse of the girl in a bush . The suspected Okada rider was immediately arrested and detained at Irun Akoko divisional police office. The traditional ruler , Oba Adewumi described the incident as strange in the community. Both Police area commander for Akoko, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Razak Rauf and DPO for Irun Akoko CSP Gbenga Ogunleye confirmed the incident and said that investigation had begun into the case.

Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu today revealed that he made a wrong choice in his embattled deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi who recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He added that Agboola’s defection to the PDP was an unpopular decision to the people of Ese-odo local government area and that was why they didn’t follow to the opposition party. Akeredolu spoke in Igbekebo, the headquarters of Ese-Odo local government area during his “meet the delegates” tour ahead of the next Monday primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Governor said despite the criticism and attack from various quarters alleging that Ajayi is his cousin, he felt that he had made a choice but a wrong choice. The ongoing trial of founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Prophet Babatunde Alfa and Six other church members continued on Thursday at the Ondo state high court in Akure. The sitting began with the cross examination of the 10th witness and 3rd defendant, Margaret Oyebola who is also the church’s Head of Children Department. The 11th witness and 4th defendant, Grace Ogunjobi while being led in examination in chief by the defence counsel, Olusola Oke said she saw a strange woman feeding some children and expressed her displeasure about it. She claimed that she got distracted while attending to a child who was vomiting until there was an alarm that a child had been missing.
