Hon.Gboluga Ikengboju Empowers 400 Constituents

Not less than 400 persons have benefited from another empowerment programme facilitated by the lawmaker representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Gboluga Dele Ikengboju. The entrepreneurship programme where grants were given to individuals to begin Small Scale Businesses took place at Ilutitun Town Hall, Okitipupa LGA today, Sunday 20th December, as part of the lawmaker's 2020 constituency project under the supervision of the "The Small And Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SAMEDAN) Beneficiaries were selected randomly across Ikaleland and each got between N50,000 to N450,000 cash depending on the category of business. Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has paid a condolence visit to the immediate family of the late Commissioner For Regional Integration and Special Duties, Professor Bayonle Ademodi, who died on Saturday 19th December 2020. Speaking at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife campus residence of the late Professor, Governor Akeredolu described him as a thoroughbred academic whose core interest in Bitumen Exploitation and Exploration would forever make him a great loss to Ondo State in particular and Nigeria as a whole. The Governor said the late Professor of Chemical Engineering was one of the high ranking experts on bitumen in the country, adding that it is regrettable he won’t be around to witness the gains of the bitumen exploration in Ondo State. Ondo State Commissioner for Regional Integration,  Prof Bayonle Ademodi is dead. His death was confirmed by  former caretaker chairman of Ondo East, Local Government , Wale Akinlosotu Akinlosotu said Ademodi was a great leader and bridge builder that was loved by young and old.  His death has been described as a great loss to  the APC family in Ondo State.   His passage was also confirmed by the state commissioner for Information and Orientation , Doland Ojogo

ISAAC AFOLABI EMERGES BEST SPORTS REPORTER (BROADCAST) AT NUJ AWARD NIGHT IN ONDO

Ondo state a ssistant Secretary Sports Writer Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and  Radio Nigeria sports reporter,  Isaac Afolabi has emerged as the 2020 Nigeria Union of Journalists sports reporter award for broadcast category. Isaac Afolabi was decorated at the dinner and award night event which took place at the press center Adegbemile Akure to climax the week long celebration of the 2020 NUJ week in Ondo state. Announcing the winner, the state's NUJ secretary,  Leke Adegbite said the press week committee based their points on  his consistency in promoting sports, especially grassroot  report.  Speaking in an interview, Mr Isaac Afolabi dedicated the award to sports crew of FRCN and advocated constant training of sports journalists nationwide, and improved welfare package to combat the challenges facing the body. Ondo Govt relaxes ban on vigils

As Christmas and New Year approaches, the Ondo State Government has relaxed the ban placed on vigils in churches across the state.  The action which was made by the  Ondo State Inter-ministerial Committee on Coronavirus (COVID-19)  was done  in the wake of Coronavirus cases in the state  The Committee declared that vigils can take place in worship centers on the night of 31st December 2020, provided that the mandated precautionary measures against COVID-19 are fully complied with. The Chairman of the Committee and Vice Chancellor, University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, made the declaration while addressing newsmen after the Inter-ministerial Committee’s meeting held in Akure. The Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II has expressed rude shock on the sudden death of the Founder of the Leadership Newspaper and the  B'aaroyin of Akure Kingdom, Chief Sam Ndah-Isaiah.
