Report reaching Newsline NG says, two nurses have been beaten up by relatives of some patients at the Federal Medical  Center, Owo, Ondo State. Report says, the Nurses were beaten for the death of their patient that they brought to the hospital in critical condition.  The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Liasu Ahmed confirm this development  He said, “It is true that some of our nurses were attacked by the relatives of some patients. We are currently investigating the matter. He added that the police responded early to douse the tension. An emergency meeting is expected to hold in the hospital by the nurses on Monday. Dr Ahmed said an investigation has been launched into the attack. He however said the hospital has not been shutdown contrary to the news making the rounds. "Contrary to fake news spreading around, we have not shutdown out hospital. We will ensure that our staff are well protected"

Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has promised to establish a Cancer Treatment Centre in the state to enable people access quality care for cancer related treatment to reduce the scourge to bearest minimum. Akeredolu made this known on Thursday at the launch of Ondo 2021 Breast and  Cervical Cancer Project held at the Government House. The governor said all arrangements would be put in place to have a befiting cancer centre before the end of his second time in office. The Joint TaskForce of the Ondo State Ministry of Natural Resources in the Akure Forest Reserve has arrested Four Indian hemp planters.  They were apprehended while preparing parts of the forest for the cultivation of the cannabis, destroying economic trees and other forest resources. According to the Director of the Joint Task Force in the Ministry, Alhaji Moshood Obadun, the planters were arrested following following a tipoff. The state commissioner for Natural resources, Mr Idowu Otetubi said no enchrochers in government forest reserves across the state would be spared. He noted that the enchrochers acted in defiance to government directive to all illegal occupants to vacate it’s forest reserves across the state

Old women of Akungba Akoko community have commenced traditional acts of spiritual cleansing of the community against evil spirits and bad luck.  This move was done contrary to wild speculations making the rounds that Akungba Akoko has been exhibiting negligence over incessant accidents bedeviling the University town.  The aged women, today trooped out in their numbers holding brooms and chanting songs of 'enough is enough'.
