The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has announced that the Scheme will not relent in providing adequate information that will save the lives of the citizens and residents of this country. The Director General made the announcement when he flagged of 2021 NYSC National Environmental Sanitation exercise at Democracy Park, Akure, the capital of Ondo State. Self acclaimed traditional ruler apprehended in Ekiti

The Police command in Ekiti has confirmed the arrest of a self-acclaimed lawyer, Rufus Olarewaju Ajayi for allegedly parading himself as a traditional ruler of Gbomina Ekiti from Kwara state. Ajayi, a native of Rore community in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara was alleged to have been in the habit of parading himself at big events as a traditional ruler before he was apprehended by the Ado-Ekiti Central Police Divisional Headquarters on Monday. The suspect was said to have contacted the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe few days ago over his plan to organise an assemblage of about 100 traditional rulers in Ekiti for a meeting with a Presidential aspirant based in Abuja. His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, the Olowo of Owo Kingdom has expressed confidence in the capacity of the current executive of the Ekiti State University Alumni Association, Ondo State Chapter, to pilot the affairs of the Association to greatest height. Slain Journalist, Olubunmi Afuye buried amidst tears in Akure

The remains of popular Journalist and On-Air-Personality, Olubunmi Afuye have been laid to rest at St Thomas' Anglican Cemetery Isinkan, Akure, Ondo state. Serving and past top government officials in Ondo state, journalism veterans, family members, friends, colleagues and church members were part of the ceremony to bid late Afuye  farewell amidst tears and tributes.  Dignitaries at the event include the bishop of Akure anglican diocese, Rt. The NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani has charged the Muslim corps members to preach love to one another and unity of the country during this year Eid-el-Kabir (Ileya) festival. The State Coordinator made the charge in a Sallah message personally sent to all corps members especially the Muslim faithfuls serving in Ondo State.
