Few hours after he was declared wanted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA over his involvement in a 25 kilograms Cocaine deal, the Nigerian Police Force has handed over the suspended DCP Abba Kyari, the erstwhile Commander of Intelligence Response Team (IRT) at the Force Intelligence Bureau of the Nigerian Police Force, to the anti-narcotic agency. Five of the wanted suspects namely: DCP Abba Kyari; ACP Sunday J. Ubua; ASP Bawa James; Inspector Simon Agirgba and Inspector John Nuhu were driven into the National Headquarters of NDLEA in Abuja at about 5pm on Monday 14th February to formally hand them over for interrogation and further investigation. By Our correspondent Following the one month warning strike declared today by the members academic staff union of universities, ASUU, some students have lamented the development and called on government to urgently meet the demands of the striking lecturers . Some of the students including Emmanuel Awoyode, Tobi Israel and David Oyetola said their lecturers would not have embarked on the strike had government honoured the agreement earlier reached. The students said the current one month warning strike could degenerated to indefinite strike in view of the lackadaisical stance of the Federal government on the demands of the union. A Magistrate court sitting in Akure on Monday has sentenced a 36-year-old woman, Mrs Opeyemi Omoyemi to four and half years in prison This follows an alleged brutality on a 12 year old boy, Joel Sunday living with her as a house boy.  Omoyemi was arraigned before a Magistrate Court sitting on a five-count charge of attempted murder, child abuse, violence against persons prohibition among others. The defendant was said to have used stick and razor blade to inflict multiple injuries on the body of the house help who she accused of stealing pieces of meat from her pot of soup. Delivering her Judgement, Chief Magistrate Olufunmilayo Edwin sentenced the defendant to three and half years on the first count charge of grievous harm she inflicted on the victim in the viral video. The defendant was also sentenced to one year imprisonment on count five.
